VM Consulting has announced that it will serialize a comprehensive planning series, "The Ancient Future," analyzing the history of exhibitions and their impact on modern society, in the Exhibition Journal published by the Association of Korea Exhibition Industry.
This column, to be published in the Exhibition Journal over six sessions spanning one year, will explore the significant roles that exhibitions have played in industry, art, politics, and culture through VM Consulting's professional perspective and analysis.
In particular, the series will unfold various perspectives on the spread of globalization and capitalism, starting from the Great Exhibition in London, the role of trade exhibitions in the modernization of Korea, the inventions introduced through exhibitions, the evolution of various exhibition venues, and the impact of digital exhibitions on modern society.
Below are the titles and contents of the 'The Ancient Future' column, which will be serialized over six sessions.
1. The History of Exhibitions: The Great Exhibition in London, England
2. The History of Trade Exhibitions in Korea: From the Opening Port Era to the Modern Day
3. Inventions Born from Exhibitions: From the Telephone to the TV and the Flying Car
4. The Evolution of Exhibition Venues: From Temples to Museums
5. The History of Digital Exhibitions: From Nam June Paik to the Metaverse and Digital Twins
6. The Footsteps of Contemporary Art Exhibitions: From Salons to Biennales
Through this series, VM Consulting intends to reveal that exhibitions have played a central role in exchanging global culture and technology, going beyond mere events.
