[News] VM Consulting Launches Operational Strategy Consulting for ICC Jeju’s Second Convention Center

Building a Next-Generation Convention Center Model for a New Era

VM Consulting, led by CEO David Lee, announced the launch of a strategic consulting project aimed at developing an operational activation plan for the soon-to-be-constructed Second Center of the Jeju International Convention Center (ICC Jeju) in Korea.

The consulting initiative is designed to establish a mid-to-long-term management vision for ICC Jeju’s “second leap forward,” focusing on identifying core strategic tasks across key operational areas.

The project will include organizational and staffing structure reform recommendations, revenue model development, and marketing strategies. Incorporating recent trends in global convention center operations and the evolving MICE industry landscape, the consulting team will present practical, actionable strategies to ensure international competitiveness and financial sustainability for the new facility.

The project will be jointly carried out with the ICC Jeju Task Force, with support from external experts in MICE and tourism, including Professor Byung-Ro Seo of Konkuk University. David Lee, CEO of VM Consulting, will serve as the project manager, overseeing the comprehensive strategy and execution roadmap.

Key tasks in the consulting project include:

  • Establishing mid-to-long-term operational strategies for the Second Center

  • Proposing improvements to organizational and staffing structures

  • Determining appropriate rental pricing and revenue models by facility

  • Developing STP-based promotional and marketing strategies for event attraction

  • Presenting plans for in-house event development

The project will be conducted over approximately 12 weeks, with the final report scheduled for August 2025.

With a strong foundation in unique venue management and global exhibition marketing strategy, VM Consulting has recently expanded its expertise into the convention center sector.

Guided by its core philosophy of “completing space through experience,” the firm continues to pursue strategies that enhance both operational efficiency and profitability while preserving the distinct identity of each venue. This ICC Jeju Second Center project marks a significant milestone in that expansion.

“Our goal is to deliver actionable strategies and an executable roadmap to ensure that the Second Center becomes a springboard for ICC Jeju to rise as a leading international convention hub in Asia,” said David Lee, CEO of VM Consulting. “This project is about building a resilient, future-proof foundation that can adapt to market shifts while enabling sustainable growth.”

Through the construction of the Second Center, ICC Jeju aims to create strong synergy with its existing facilities, boost the local economy, and enhance its global competitiveness in attracting international events. VM Consulting plans to leverage its in-depth understanding of MICE trends and real-world experience to provide differentiated, field-oriented venue consulting solutions.
