From Exhibition Participation to Real Market Entry: Practical Strategies for Building Local Business Models

Seoul, Republic of Korea – On November 7, VM Consulting CEO David Lee was invited by the Korea Institute of Knowledge Service (KIKS) to deliver a special lecture titled “Go Global: How to Make Local Business Model – Establishing Local Business Models for Overseas Market Expansion.”
With growing global interest in entering overseas markets, the lecture focused on how companies can secure business impact abroad by developing market-specific business models rather than relying solely on product competitiveness. During the session, Lee emphasized that successful global expansion requires a structured understanding of local pricing strategies, regulatory environments, on-site sales support systems, and building effective partner relationships.
“Many companies believe that participating in exhibitions or promotional events is enough to generate overseas business results. However, without a localized business model that reflects each target market’s business logic, negotiations often fall short,” said Lee. “Before going abroad, companies must first define how they will actually create and deliver value in that market.”
Lee also presented real case studies from international exhibitions and global B2B marketing projects supported by VM Consulting in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. The lecture concluded with key frameworks that companies can apply immediately when planning overseas market entry.
